Suitable for improver riders or for adults who would like to get back into riding.
These sessions are popular with parents who have family/work commitments, but are free to ride during the week.
During this session you will learn about horses and ponies and get involved with grooming and tacking up your pony for the session, as well as getting involved with a theory or practical session and learning the basics of horse care. This will include a group riding lesson in our indoor or outdoor arena.
Pony mornings run during all school holidays.
Potential riders can make an appointment to visit the centre to meet the ponies so we can assess how they interact with the ponies prior to riding. There is no charge for this service.
Schools with mini buses or riders with a mobility disability can park in the trekking centre by arrangement.
The maximum weight limit for disabled riders is 9st.
We offer lead rides and riding lessons for groups of school children or organisations during term time depending on your preference.
This can allow children to come up close with horses and ponies in the fresh air rather than being in a classroom.
We also offer this experience as a pony morning, giving the children the full experience of getting to know what its like to work with and around horses.
Pony parties are available on weekends from 1.00pm- 2.00pm and 3.30pm-4.40pm.
The children will spend half an hour learning about the ponies, grooming them and tacking up ready to ride. They will then go out in a group for a half hour hack around Woodgate valley country park.
We can also do just the half an hour lead ride in a group for those not wanting the full hour.
Min: 4 riders
Max: 10 riders
(for more than 10 riders we can split them into groups)
